Advocacy being one of the benefits that KNCCI offers to its members. The chamber President Mr. Richard Ngatia in the company of Mr. Simeon Kitheka-Director, Lower Eastern, Mr. Kihara Njuguna-Company Secretary, Mr. John Shimaka-Director and Mr. Patrick Nyangweso Chief Operating Officer had a meeting with the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF), a non-political, non-profit making and democratic member-based umbrella organization of all farmers in Kenya. It represents the interests of over 2 million farm families as the legitimate farmers’ voice with the objective of articulating issues affecting them through; focused lobby and advocacy targeted capacity building and promotion of sector stakeholders’ cohesiveness in dispensing progressive uptake of agricultural innovations for enhanced socio-economic status of the farmers.
KENAFF is keen to become members of KNCCI so as to address challenges faced by farmers in the following areas;
• Over taxation of farm inputs
• Licensing for investors.
And to also benefit from various ongoing programmes that KNCCI are undertaking in relation to agribusiness i.e Swith Africa Green.
