Ethiopian Ambassador Mr. Meles Alem paid a courtesy visit to KNCCI. The Ambassador stressed that the relationship between Kenya and Ethiopia is exemplary and thus Ethiopia is always ready to trade with Kenya with main focus on Tourism, ICT, Manufacturing and leather industry. He majored on the need for the two Countries to form a Joint Business Council, focus on Business and Public Diplomacy.

The Chamber President (CP) assured the Ambassador of the Chamber Support in terms of IGAD programs, Agricultural Value addition, Health sector, Warehousing, Manufacturing, and industrial park collaborations.He also assured that Chamber is ready to help fast track pending Projects i. e LAPSET.

Chamber Vice president Dr. Eric Ruto represented KNCCI at the 6th Print Pack and Sign Expo 2019 organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry one of the leading Chambers in India with 1.3M members.He called on the two countries (Kenya & India) to bridge the trade deficit largely in favour of India as well as address the reducing trade volumes.

Earlier today the Chamber President(CP) received a delegation from China, Sino Sure, China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation. Sino Sure supports SMEs by:

Offering Comprehensive Credit Insurance for SMEs.
Easy credit insurance for Small and Macro Sized Enterprises. Sino Sure will work with the Chamber their local counterparts to offer SMEs these services, especially those exporting to China
They also offered a 90-day export Guarantee scheme to SMEs exporting to China.

KNCCI receives a courtesy visit from the Republic of Tunisia Ambassador and Business Representative

Courtesy visit by the Amb. Of the Republic of Tunisia to Kenya H.E Hatem Landoulsi and Business Representative of Tunisia in Kenya Mr. Salim Yahia.The discussions revolved around

Strengthening trade bilaterals between Kenya and Tunisia in areas of Agribusiness, Tourism, and Textile industry.
The need for Tunisia to aid in building the SME industrial park for SME development, capacity building and transfer of skills in manufacturing.
The need to organize for both outbound and inbound trade mission to Tunisia and Kenya Respectively (dates to be confirmed.)
The Chamber President (CP) and Chamber Vice President (CVP) assured the Ambassador of the Chamber support. KNCCI and The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Centre – (Tunisia )signed an MoU this year(2019) in March.
