Earlier today, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) hosted Mr. Mohamed Midouche, an international consultant with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), for a strategic engagement at the Chamber’s headquarters.

The meeting, led by KNCCI National Director Cynthia Nyawira, focused on evaluating the potential for BADEA to establish a regional office for East and Southern Africa in Nairobi. This initiative underscores Kenya’s growing role as a strategic hub for regional economic and investment opportunities.

BADEA reached out to KNCCI as a key stakeholder in the private sector, recognizing the Chamber’s instrumental role in unlocking new investment avenues and fostering business growth across Kenya.

KNCCI committed to supporting BADEA by providing critical insights into the country’s infrastructure landscape—particularly transportation and logistics—as well as helping assess the broader socio-economic context. This includes evaluating local content policies, identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships, and promoting inclusive economic development.

The Chamber looks forward to continued collaboration with BADEA as both institutions work towards enhancing regional integration and expanding development financing in Africa.
