Chamber President Dr Erick Rutto today took part in the 2nd National Cancel Summit that was opened under the theme; Uniting our voices and taking action hosted by the National Cancer Institute of Kenya.
The event that was officially launched by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi as the chief guest is aimed at strengthening cancer control in Kenya as the country continues to implement the National Cancer Control Strategy with the private sector playing a crucial role through the power of synergy.
The three day event also highlights data driven innovations and emerging technologies that are revolutionizing cancer registration surveillance and research. During the summit the Ministry of Health launched the radiotherapy protocols and empower program and awards.
The empower program which was launched in 2019 is focused on addressing the inefficiencies in integrated care for the woman at the community level with 20 clinics having been established to screen women for both breast and cervical cancer.
