The President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Dr. Erick Rutto, today held a meeting with representatives from the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce led by His Excellency Director General of the Chamber, Sultan Al-Hindassi, at his office to discuss strengthening trade and investment relations between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the discussions, the Fujairah delegation highlighted Fujairah’s strategic advantage as the preferred port for Kenyan exporters and importers, emphasizing its ease of business setup compared to Dubai and the existing trade partnership frameworks between Kenya and the UAE.
The visiting team also underscored UAE’s growing demand for Kenyan livestock and meat products, identifying the sector as a high-potential area for mutual growth and collaboration with prospects of using the Lamu Port.

On its part, KNCCI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Kenya–UAE trade ties, pledging to advocate for the ratification of the Special Economic Partnership Agreement (SEPA) to facilitate smoother trade flows between the two countries.
Dr. Rutto further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two chambers to enhance trade integrity and ensure that only verified and genuine traders are engaged in cross-border business, noting the need to curb the rising cases of fraud in international trade.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to explore structured cooperation frameworks that will support private sector engagement, promote investment opportunities, and strengthen Kenya’s export competitiveness in the Gulf region.
