The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) will host a capacity-building training for entrepreneurs, women, and youth-led businesses in Uasin Gishu County on March 26, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Kenya.
The pilot training, to be held at EKA Hotel Eldoret in Eldoret, will focus on equipping local businesses with practical digital skills and strategies needed to grow in an increasingly technology-driven marketplace.
Organized under the the workshop will bring together SME owners, entrepreneurs, and business professionals for a full-day interactive learning session combining presentations, practical exercises, and collaborative problem-solving.
Participants will explore immediate and impactful actions businesses can take to remain competitive, including digital marketing techniques, understanding customer behavior, and identifying market opportunities. A key highlight of the training will be a hands-on group session where participants will work together to develop solutions to real business challenges submitted by SMEs in the region.
In the afternoon session, trainers from OSMOS Global Partnerships will introduce core digital skills for businesses, drawing lessons from international experiences such as Lithuania’s digital transformation initiatives. Participants will also receive training on cybersecurity essentials, including identifying digital threats and developing effective response strategies to safeguard business operations.
The cybersecurity workshop will simulate real-world threat scenarios, enabling participants to design and present response plans while receiving feedback from facilitators and peers.
KNCCI continues to roll out similar training initiatives across counties as part of its broader mandate to support enterprise growth, innovation, and business resilience. By equipping entrepreneurs with digital tools and knowledge, the Chamber aims to help Kenyan SMEs unlock new opportunities, improve productivity, and expand into regional and global markets.
Local SMEs interested in presenting business challenges for the workshop are encouraged to submit their cases ahead of the training.
