This morning, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry team, led by CEO KK Mutai, hosted a delegation from the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) led by Manager Trade Facilitation and Value Add services Billy Ngumi for strategic discussions on integrating the Chamber Management Information System (CMIS) with KenTrade’s Single Window Trade Facilitation Platform (TFP).
The proposed integration aims to enhance transparency and efficiency by enabling real-time visibility of submitted documents across both systems. This will strengthen collaboration between the Chamber and government agencies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority, in addressing the undervaluation of Certificates of Origin (COO) invoices.
Once implemented, the integration is expected to significantly improve compliance, streamline trade processes, and foster a more transparent and accountable trading environment, ultimately boosting confidence in Kenya’s export ecosystem.
