The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) recently hosted a delegation from Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, led by Mr. Adrian Ng, Chief Negotiator for the EAC-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Director-General for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The courtesy call featured a strategic dialogue chaired by KNCCI Director Lucy Muchoki.
Key discussions focused on designing a Kenya–Singapore FTA that delivers mutual economic benefits, sharing insights into the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) implementation, and identifying collaborative opportunities aligned with both countries’ economic priorities.
The AfCFTA, the largest free trade zone globally, spans 54 African Union member states and unites a market of 1.3 billion people. The engagement highlighted Singapore’s growing interest in Africa’s evolving trade landscape and KNCCI’s commitment to strengthening international trade ties for Kenya’s economic growth.
