The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) participated in the Advancing Women’s Economic Empowerment in Kenya Strategic Validation Workshop held at Sarova Panafric Hotel, convened by the Ministry of Gender and supported by OXFAM.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders to review the revised Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Strategy 2020–2025. Discussions focused on:
✅ Enhancing women’s access to financial and productive resources
✅ Promoting women-led entrepreneurship
✅ Increasing participation of women in decision-making processes
✅ Facilitating the transition of women from unpaid care work into formal economic activity
This strategic session provided a platform to evaluate progress under current thematic areas, identify implementation gaps, and generate actionable recommendations to shape the next phase of the WEE strategy — aligned with Kenya’s evolving socio-economic realities.
The event brought together representatives from leading organizations committed to gender equality, including GIZ, Trademark Africa, OWIT, KEPROBA, and other women empowerment entities.
Key outcomes included recommendations for:
🔹 Strengthening policy frameworks
🔹 Improving institutional coordination
🔹 Enhancing impact and sustainability of WEE initiatives
KNCCI remains committed to advancing inclusive economic development by supporting initiatives that empower women and drive sustainable growth.
