KNCCI and Care Kenya today held a roundtable breakfast as a platform for dialogue between the two organizations and key stakeholders including government. The meeting was attended by KNCCI CEO KK Mutai, Country Director CARE Kenya Getrude Misango, Chamber Preident Dr Erick Rutto, President & CEO of CARE International Ms. Michelle Nunn and Principal Secretary State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action Anne Wang’ombe
The meeting also explored opportunities for partnership in advancing women economic empowerment, youth employment and SME growth. The two organizations also discussed joint initiatives that can enhance livelihoods, promote innovation and expand market access. Speaking at the event Dr Rutto highlighted KNCCI and CARE Kenyas complementary roles with the latter’s strategic focus on inclusive livelihoods and enterprise development, food and nutrition security through agribusiness, climate-smart and resilient value chains, financial inclusion, and innovation-driven market access as their priority sectors areas where the private sector and KNCCI have both capacity and responsibility to lead.

On her part of CARE International President Michelle Nunn termed the resolve to strengthen institutional relationship as timely and would strengthen efforts by the two organization‘s to eliminate poverty and enhance empowerment for women and youth across the country.
Going forward the two institutions agreed to indentify priority areas for collaboration and commence work on a roadmap for joint initiatives and follow up actions.
