ASEAN Day is the annual commemoration of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that is celebrated on 8 August. ASEAN is a regional intergovernmental organization that fosters cooperation and integration among its ten member states in Southeast Asia.

The Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto represented the private sector as the Chief Guest during the celebrations .In his keynote address, He encouraged a South-to-South partnerships that will enhance collaborations in trade and investment, agriculture, ICT, manufacturing, value addition affordable healthcare, tourism, and mineral resources.

He urged the ASEAN bloc to explore opportunities and called for increased efforts to expand and strengthen trade and investment relations with Kenya as she offers a huge market for ASEAN and a gateway to the East African Community, which has a population of close to 300 million, with the entry of DRC.
