In an effort to foster cooperation between Kenya and Yemen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen H.E Dr. Ahmed Awadh Bin Mubarak accompanied by his delegation were hosted  by The Chamber Vice President Mr. Mustafa Ramadhan. During their visit, they expressed their desire to strengthen trade ties between Kenya and Yemen. Notably, there already are investments by Yemeni business people, some exceeding US$ 100 Million.

Furthermore, they proposed establishing a connection with the Yemen Chamber of Commerce with the objective of increasing the volume of trade between Kenya and Yemen. Particularly, they are looking to meet the demand for products like tea ( Yemen purchased from Kenya tea worth Kshs 20 Billion in the last 12 Months ).

In addition to this, they aspire to establish direct routes for the transportation of goods to Yemen, bypassing the need to transit through other countries. This move is aimed at reducing shipment costs and streamlining trade processes.

The Chamber Vice President in his remarks noted that KNCCI supports the Yemeni delegation’s desire for direct transportation of goods to Yemen. This aligns with our goal of reducing trade barriers, enhancing efficiency, and minimizing transportation costs for businesses engaged in international trade.
