Following a partnership meeting between KNCCI, Baringo County Government and Office of the Mayor Gersthofen , Germany last week, KNCCI committed to enhancing climate change by organizing a workshop with various partners and members in the relevant sectors.

The workshop took place this morning at The Heron Portico Hotel from 10.00am to 1.00pm with the Chamber 1st Vice President Dr. Erick Rutto giving an overview of KNCCI’s role and services to members. Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa was represented by Maren Diale-Schellschmidt , The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, fosters positive bilateral business relations between German and Eastern Africa companies, offers market entry facilitation, business partner search, market analysis information and surveys, fact finding missions, business delegations, project partnerships and other tailor made services such as conferences, workshops, company presentations and other events.

The Mayor of Gersthofen Mr.Michael Worle gave a presentation on the current climate change partnership with the Baringo County Government. The partnership seeks to address issues concerning sustainable water management, afforestation and environmental education putting in place an in-depth road map and a clear vision on areas of focus and implementation on how to combat the adverse effects climate change.

There were various partners and members present namely KNCCI Nairobi Chapter, Head Waters Africa, Kent Africa, Koko Networks, Vera Beauty College, Sunflag Ltd , Konza Technopolis and RSA Africa. All companies present made presentations about their roles and how they would tap in into the partnership to enhance climate change in the country.
