A delegation of 14 KNCCI members, led by KNCCI Director Mr.John Shimaka and KNCCI Laikipia Chairman Mr. Ndegwa Gitonga, participated in a 10- day educational trade mission to China. The primary purpose of this mission was to acquire knowledge and training related to the edible fungi – mushroom value chain. The training sessions were conducted by the Hunan Edible Fungi Institute in Changsha.

Upon their return, the delegation has submitted a comprehensive report detailing their completion of the training program, along with certification, to the Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto. The valuable training opportunity was made possible through the sponsorship of the China Africa Economic Promotion Council.

Additionally, the delegation has forged three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), one of which is between KNCCI and CNOID. CNOID is an international Object Identifiers company based in China, specializing in product labeling with AI technology to harness the capabilities of the Internet of Things (IoT).

The delegation also held discussions with the President of the Changsha Chamber , along with members , regarding potential avenues for deeper collaboration within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.
